Imagine your first morning in Zermatt: the air is crisp, tinged with the scent of pine, with the iconic Matterhorn dominating the skyline. A local guide leads you along a meadow trail where cowbells echo in the valley, before setting out a picnic of mountain cheeses, dried apricots, and a chilled Valais white—it doesn't really get better than this. Explore the most beautiful havens in Switzerland the way they are meant to be explored—on foot, up close and personal. This journey takes you and your loved ones between the car-free village of Zermatt and the Engadin valley of St. Moritz, via a scenic ride on the legendary Glacier Express. At the start of your journey, you can explore Zermatt on foot—via ferrata Schweifinen, a beginner route inspired by WWI Alpine troop paths. Feel the cool iron under your hand and the exhilaration of standing on a cliff ledge over a valley. By evening, lanterns glow in a remote hut where fondue awaits and Alpine stories are shared over local Pinot Noir. A few days later, you board the Glacier Express, often referred to as the "slowest express train in the world”. This journey takes you across 291 kilometres, through 91 tunnels, and over 291 bridges, including the renowned Landwasser Viaduct and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Albula and Bernina Lines. You arrive in St. Moritz, where larch forests turn golden in the Engadin light. Here, the architecture shifts to the elegant, bright-coloured, plastered façades typical of Graubünden. Here, you can enjoy a gentle lakeside walk, where you can take in the scent of wildflowers in the fresh Alpine breezes. Alternatively, relax on a carriage ride through Val Fex where you can enjoy the views against the melodic backdrop of hoofbeats and birdsong. There’s plenty to discover here, from the Zuoz village, known as “the most beautiful in Engadin”, with 16th-century patrician houses decorated in sgraffito, to the Hanselmann Patisserie, the café where Coco Chanel sipped hot chocolate après-ski. Take in the views of Lake Sils, Europe’s highest navigable lake, traverse the Morteratsch Glacier Trail, or simply enjoy an indulgent meal at Talvo by Dalsass, which offers fine dining inside a 17th-century Engadin farmhouse. Here, you can relax with your loved ones in an infinity pool overlooking glaciers, enjoying a herbal wrap perfumed with mountain botanicals. This is not a hurried tour. It is a journey for you to wander, taste and connect—with yourself and with each other..

WHY VISIT ZERMATT?
Zermatt is more than a postcard village at the foot of the Matterhorn; it is a monument to Alpine heritage and a testament to a commitment to sustainability. Its status as a car-free village since 1947 sets it apart, offering an unparalleled tranquillity and air quality. The only vehicles you'll encounter are silent electric taxis and quaint horse-drawn carriages, a unique feature that preserves its authentic charm.
The village is also the birthplace of Swiss alpinism. The Matterhorn, while not the highest peak in Switzerland, is arguably its most iconic and holds a rich history. It was first climbed in 1865, and the Matterhorn Museum in the village serves as a subterranean time capsule, preserving the stories and artifacts of this mountaineering history. Zermatt is surrounded by 38 of the 76 European four-thousander peaks, a fact that cements its reputation as a world-class hub for both serious mountaineers and discerning travellers seeking an elegant and exclusive alpine sanctuary.
WHY VISIT ST. MORITZ?
St. Moritz is more than a destination; it is the original birthplace of Alpine tourism and a sanctuary for high society. From the legendary Kulm Hotel, which hosted the first-ever winter guests in 1864, to its status as a two-time host of the Winter Olympics, the town offers a rich history that has attracted a discerning clientele for over a century, drawn to its blend of natural beauty and refined elegance. The Bernina and Maloja Passes, winding out from St. Moritz, were not just roads but vital arteries for centuries—first for Roman trade and later for aristocrats on the Grand Tour—before becoming the legendary scenic drives they are today.
It is this deep-rooted connection to both history and nature that makes St. Moritz a truly unique Alpine hub, where every view and every corner holds a story worth sharing.
WHY VISIT THE ENGADIN?
The Engadin valley is a destination of quiet sophistication, a counterpoint to the more celebrated glamour of nearby St. Moritz. It has historically been a preferred sanctuary for writers, artists, and intellectuals, drawn to its serene landscape and its unique cultural identity.
The valley is home to a rich Romansh heritage, Switzerland’s lesser-known national language, which provides a rare glimpse into a culture that values authenticity and tradition. This is a place where wellbeing is found in the pure, pine-scented air and a deep connection to the earth. Activities here are not about exertion but about immersion—from visiting a local apiary to sample honey, to a gentle hike that opens up to breathtaking, untouched vistas.
It is the perfect place to recharge and reconnect with oneself, surrounded by a landscape of rugged beauty and a community that holds fast to its history and traditions.
